10 Days in Spain...The Iberian Peninsula is a land of legends!
Day 1 MADRID:
You arrive in Spain's flamboyant pulse point- Madrid. The geographic and cultural center of the country, all roads lead to and from this metropolitan city that seems to never sleep. Madrid will be your base for the next two nights staying in any one of the beautiful hotels the city has to offer.
Day 2 CULTURE:
One of the cultural gems of the world, the Prado Museum begs to be explored with a guide of the highest caliber who will help bring to life the priceless works by masters such as Titian, Velazquez and Goya. You must visit the stately palaces, including the Madrid DE Los Austrias and the Royal Palace. You will to want to do a 1/2 day tour of Toledo.
Day 3 SEVILLE:
Travel centuries as you catch the sleek, high-speed AVE speed train to Seville, awash in ancient culture and history. Seville is the birthplace of the flamenco, so where better to enjoy a presentation on the passionate dance.
Seville will be your home for the next three nights.
Day 4 CORDOBA:
A World Heritage city of Roman origin. Here, you will visit the spectacular Cathedral-Mosque with its Patio DE Los Naranjos and the medieval Synagogue, as you stroll through winding streets blooming with geranium-filled balconies in the old Jewish Quarter, La Juderia.
Day 5 ROYAL SEVILLE:
Today, explore Seville on your own or with one of our top guides. You will visit the Cathedral and the Reales Alcazars, Seville's royal palace, and its sensational gardens. Stroll through the Barrio DE Santa Cruz with its inviting patios, and lunch al fresco. You can then have a horse-drawn carriage pick you up for a promenade through sylvan Maria Luisa park, and on to the Casa de Pilatos, private home of the Duchess of Medinaceli.
Day 6 JEREZ & RONDA:
Driving from Seville to Jerez this morning, home of the world famous sherry wines. After enjoying tasting at select wineries-such as the Tio pepe, it's time to experience yet another of Spain's most famous icons, viewing a demonstration of noble Spanish dressage at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian art. See the Andalusian horse shows that are presented every Tuesday and Thursday.
Late, you will leave for Ronda- one of Spain's legendary whitewashed villages. Ronda is perched on the sides of a steep ravine, with its graceful signature bridge joining the cities two halves. Your home here is the parador DE Ronda. You will want to walk this historic city.
Day 7 RONDA & GRANADA:
As the morning sun glints off the serene streets of the city, you will visit Ronda's wonderful sights, such as the Casa Del Rey Moro, Palace of the Marquis of Salvatierra, Palace of Mondragon with its noble Renaissance facade and one of the oldest bullrings in Spain.
You will then want to head for Granada- making your home the Parador Granada, or the Alhambra Palace- located on the Alhambra Palace- located on the Alhambra grounds. Your energy level permitting, a moonlight tour of one of Spain's greatest treasures, the Alhambra can be arranged.
Day 8 GRANADA:
A visit to the palaces and gardens of the Alhambra is the opportunity of a lifetime. No day in Spain is complete without an extravagant mid-day repast-your can take place at the Parador San Francisco, located within the walls of the Alhambra gardens. You will have a chance to visit the Royal Chapel, where the tomb of the storied monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella are located, along with her private art collection.
Day 9 COSTA DEL SOL:
Since this is your last stop, we will venture to say we have saved the best for last. Costa Del Sol has fantastic year round climate, wonderful food and superb wines, exciting nightlife, extraordinary shopping, sun-drenched beaches on the Mediterranean Sea, and the best golf on the Continental Europe. This will be your home for the next 2 nights.
