APRIL:- :- Portugal Golf Open. International golf tournament.
MAY (8-12):- Throughout Portugal- All-Terrain 4x4 Rally
JUNE-SEPTEMBER:- - Music Festival of Sintra
JULY-AUGUST:- - Estoril Jazz Festival
SEPTEMBER:- - Portugal open. International tennis tournament
FEBRUARY: Porto, Fantasporto, international film festival
MARCH -(1-3):- Loule, Nazare, Torres Vedras, and Ovar- Carnival (mardi gras) festivities.
APRIL -(13-20): Braga, Ovar, Povoa De Varzim and other major cities, Holy Week festivities feature colorful parades and displays.
MAY -(1-4): Barcelos. Festival of the Crosses (Festas das Cruzes). Procession of Jewel-encrusted crosses, along with music concerts, craft exhibits and fireworks.
Fatima ( 12-13): -Annual Pilgrimage to Fatima. Candlelight procession takes place on May 12. The next day, thousands commemorate the first apparition of the Virgin Mary to the shepherds.
JUNE (1)- Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel Island, Azores. Merrymaking, fairs and fireworks, honoring Senhor Santo Cristo. Magnificent religious procession on streets carpeted with flowers.
MAY/JUNE:- :- Algarve. Algarve Music Festival. Concerts featuring top Portuguese and foreign guest musicians.
JUNE ( 7-15):- Santarem. National Fair of Agriculture. Farming exhibits, bullfighting, folk songs and dances.
Lisbon (12-13):- Festivities honoring St. Anthony. Music, dances and show of "marchas", or walking groups of singers and musicians, representing the various quarters of the city.
JUNE-SEPTEMBER : Sintra. Music Festival of Sintra Festival. Includes the Music Festival and Ballet Nights
JUNE (23-24):- Important event in honor of St. John featuring the cit's popular traditions
JULY : - Vila Franca De Xira. Colete Encarnado (Red Waistcoat). Bullfights, folk dances, a fair and competitions for the Portuguese cowboys.
JULY-AUGUST - Estoril Coast. Estoril Music Festival. Featuring Portuguese and foreign artists.
AUGUST (1-3):- Guimaraes "Gualterianas" Festivities (St. Walter's Festival). Parades, music bands, religious processions and folk dance groups.
Funchal Madeira Island (14-15)- Festivities honoring Our Lady of Monte include a procession and evening fairs with brass bands.
Viana Do Castelo (23-25)- Our Lady of Agony Festivities. Fair, fireworks, marching bands and a procession carrying Our Lady of Agony over carpets of flowers.
AUGUST-SEPTEMBER :- Viseu. 30-day fair of St. Matthew dating back to the Middle Ages.
SEPTEMBER (6-10):- Palmela. Wine Harvest Festival. Celebration of folk dances and songs, a fair, wine tasting, fireworks and the election of a "Queen of the Wine."
Lamego (5-8):- Festivities in honor of Our Lady of Remedies. Torchlight procession, battle of flowers, folklore festival, fairs and fireworks, cultivating with the Triumphal Procession.
Moita (13-21):- Our Lady of Good Voyage Festivities. Procession of the blessing of the fishing boats, bullfights, fun fairs and more
Nazare (7-14):- Our Lady of Nazare Festivities takes place at Sitio. Festivities include bullfights, concerts and folk dancing.
Algarve:- Annual Folk Music and Dance Festival. Colorful festival held in all the region’s larger towns.
OCTOBER (12-13):- Fatima. . Last Pilgrimage to Fatima. Thousands of pilgrims gather to celebrate the apparition of the Virgin.
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER :- Santarem. National Gastronomy Festival. Traditional cuisine, cooking contests, handicrafts, folk dancing and specialties from exhibiting restaurants.
NOVEMBER (6-10):- Golega. St. martin's Fair/National Horse Show. Horse parades, riding competitions and other attractions.
DECEMBER (31):- Funchal, Madeira Island. St. Sylvester's Festival. New Years Eve festivities and fireworks.
